First picture of the sun and it’s spots I’ve taken.

WARNING: NEVER ATTEMPT TO SEE THE SUN WITH THE NAKED EYE IT MAY/CAN CAUSE PERMANENT BLINDNESS.

I enjoy looking at Jupiter and Saturn and the stars through the telescope and taking pictures of them. I used my model to see what planet is next which Mars is. But while I’m waiting for Mars to appear in the sky, a ray of light hit me and drawn my attention, “what if I can take a picture of a sun and its spots,”

Crazy and I knew the dangers, ‘abuse the sun, lose your sight’

I scanned the internet and ordered the filters and solar glasses. When the glasses arrived I put them on and looked at the sun. It was just a white orb glowing through the glasses. When the filters arrived I adapted the telescope and placed the filter on (good old sellotape)

I looked through the adapted telescope it was amazing seeing the sun and its spots.

(Look carefully near the centre of the sun you could see a spot)

So while I’m waiting for Mars to appear I try and learn more about the sun before observing an rare event occurs in early part of June 2012 The transit of Venus.
